Fixed Deposit (FD): All you need to know

Fixed Deposit (FD): All you need to know

What is a Fixed Deposit (FD) in crypto?

A fixed deposit (FD) is a mode of passive investment that involves generating yield through DeFi and Lending.

FDs offer the best rates on customers’ crypto assets and earn returns on your idle crypto assets over various terms — weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual.

FD offers the best-fixed returns on crypto holdings that perform just like conventional bank FDs. At Giottus, the annual percentage yield (APY) is fixed regardless of price changes.

Which all coins can be invested in FD?

Giottus offer FDs with Tether (USDT), Axie Infinity (AXS), and ApeCoin (APE).

What about the returns with each coin?

There are two options for fixed deposits using Tether (USDT). One offers a 13% annual percentage yield (APY) after a one-month lock-in time, and the other offers a 20% APY after a one-week lock-in period.

Only a month lock-in term option is available with 36% APY for Axie Infinity (AXS) coin, while a month lock-in period for ApeCoin (APE) offers 12% APY.

At the end of the lock-in period, interest and the principal amount will be credited to the holder.

Is there a minimum time to hold FD?

As mentioned, there is a lock-in period for each coin. Cancelling before the term (one week or one month according to plan) may result in coins with no returns. The holding period for the FD is unlimited. A new order must be placed once each plan expires.

Is there a minimum amount needed to start FD?

Two plans are available for Tether (USDT).

  • One can start investing with the one-month lock-in term plan with as little as 10 coins and as much as 50,000 coins.
  • You will require a minimum of 10 coins and a maximum of 100 coins for the one-week plan.

A minimum of 0.1 coins and a maximum of 200 coins are required for Axie Infinity (AXS), while a minimum of 1 coin and a maximum of 100 coins are required for ApeCoin (APE).

The coin rate is determined using the rate in effect that day.
